Raymond Rushing Brazill a.k.a Raybud was born February 10, 1954 to Monroe & Ruby Lee Brazill Sr. in Lauderdale County, Meridian, MS. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Albert Rushing, and one sister Ama Lee Rushing.
Raymond grew up and attended primary school in Florida. Later the family moved to San Fernando, CA where Raymond attended San Fernando High School. Raymond was an excellent student; he graduated from high school in 1972. Raymond then joined the United States Navy where he diligently served his country. After the Navy, Raymond worked as a Carpenter, Brick Mason, & Heavy Equipment Operator for many years.
October 31, 2015, Raymond relocated to Cedar Park, TX. Raymond "Raybud" had a great passion for family & family gatherings; on any given weekend you could catch Raybud helping a family member with various projects. He enjoyed watching sports and cooking for family gatherings. You could always find him on the grill. Raymond brought a whole new type of fun to the meaning of Taco Tuesdays. Every Tuesday at Mariachis de Jalisco Mexican Food Restaurant with family. His most memorable trip was on the Royal Caribbean cruise to Cozumel and Costa Maya with family. Family gatherings will never be the same as Raybud was the best one two Cha Cha slide king. His smile and positive energy will truly be missed. He was always a spark of positive energy that kept us laughing, focused, and moving straight ahead. He never left any one out and showed genuine care and concern to his family, putting them first. He was the go-to person for just about any job or situation. Raymond was a great father, brother, uncle, and son.
Raymond leaves to mourn and cherish his memory, two daughters, Erryn Monique Brazill-Williams (Warren) or Minneapolis, MN, and Rayneisha Brazill of Meridian, MS; two grandsons, Christopher Williams and Nate Williams of Minneapolis, MN; his siblings, James R. Rusing Sr. (Enevke) of Meridian, MS, Emily M. Hearn (James) of Leander, TX, JoAnn Jenkins-Stevers of Cedar Park, TX, and Monroe Brazill Jr. of Bakersfield, CA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Join us as we celebrate his homegoing. Lord, please cover the family with peace, love, and unity in Your Name sake, Amen. Raymond will be missed dearly.
A visitation for Raymond will be held Saturday, April 29, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Weed Corley Fish Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 1200 S. Bagdad, Leander, TX 78641, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM.
