27, 1957 in Austin, Texas to Joe and Angela Davis.
In his life, Michael always had a talent for music. When he entered high school he joined the Anderson High School Marching Band as a trumpet player. In his senior year, he was the first chair for his instrument and was awarded a seat in the 1975 All-State Symphony Orchestra. In 1976, he attended the University of Texas, becoming a member of the UT Marching Band and Jazz Ensemble. Later, Michael completed an associate degree in computer Science at Austin Community College. In 1982, he would marry his wife of 42 years, Deborah. Together, they had four children. Michael would go on to coach his sons’ little league teams and share his passion for music with his youngest son, Jacob. Throughout his life Michael maintained a belief in God, becoming a parishioner of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Michael’s faith extended to never passing a penny lying on the ground, collecting them because of their message “in God we trust”.
Michael is preceded in death by his brother Randall Davis. He is survived by his
parents, Joe and Angela; his wife, Deborah; his children Kevin (Melissa), Keith
(Shannon), Jacob and Katy; his sister Veronica; grandchildren, Robin, Varren, Keeley,
Ellie, and Kenna; and nephew and niece, Mitchell and Sophie.
A Visitation for Michael will be held at Weed-Corley-Fish Leander Funeral Home, on Thursday, November 15, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a rosary starting at 6:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held the following day on Friday, November 16, 2024 at 1:00 PM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Austin. Michael will be laid to rest following the funeral mass at Assumption Cemetery in Austin.
