It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jim White and his beloved wife, Mary Ann. Mary Ann was born on June 10, 1940, and Jim on January 9, 1937 in Nevada, Iowa. They met and married in Nevada and celebrated 65 years of marriage.
Mary Ann had a deep affection for her cats, was an avid reader, and dedicated countless hours to volunteering. She touched many lives with her kindness and generosity. Jim, affectionately known as "Big Cat," owned and operated White Jewelry for 26 years, where he was known for his warm smile and impeccable craftsmanship. Jim had a passion for golf and was a passionate fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.
They were preceded in death by their daughter, Mary Elaine White. Jim and Mary Ann are survived by their children, Jim (Lisa) White and Laura (Kendall) King, and their three grandchildren, Taylor & Grace White, and Nick King, who will carry forward their legacy of love and kindness.
Jim passed away on June 16, 2024, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease, and Mary Ann passed on August 30, 2023 losing her battle to dementia. They will be laid to rest together in the Nevada Cemetery, next to their cherished daughter, Elaine.
Jim and Mary Ann’s enduring love, dedication to family, and contributions to their community will forever be remembered. They leave behind a legacy of compassion, strength, and cherished memories.
