Jim Craig’s legacy carries on through his two beautiful children, Tanner and Madison and grandson, Brody. Jim Craig is also survived by his siblings, David Hess, Mary Lynn Kiely, Gretchen Hess and Catherine Fern, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Jim Craig’s love for sports started at a very young age as he was a standout athlete at Pecos High School. He then attended the University of Texas at Austin where he served as a member of the football staff under Darrel K. Royal and was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. He graduated in 1977 and spent the majority of his career in the banking and mortgage industries.
Jim Craig loved gathering with family and friends and his larger-than-life personality filled every room he walked in. His whole world revolved around watching his kids chase their dreams through sports and he was dedicated to being their #1 supporter on the sidelines. You could find him on the Forty Acres every Saturday enjoying Longhorn athletics. He kept faith at the center of his life where he served as a member of the St. Thomas More church for over twenty years.
This one-of-a-kind, fun-loving, smart man who knew no stranger will be missed by so many and if God weren’t a Longhorn fan already, he is now.
A celebration of Jim Craig’s life will be on Friday, February 16th at Twin Creeks Country Club at 12 PM. For flowers, please send to Twin Creeks Country Club or consider donating to the Alzheimer’s Association.
