Floyd was born May 27, 1934, to Floyd Elisha and Ada Blanche Edwards in Jackson, Mississippi. He was a 1952 graduate of Mendenhall High School in Mendenhall, Mississippi then moved to Houston, Texas to attend The University of Houston where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree in 1957. He practiced Pharmacy for nearly five decades before retiring to Lago Vista, Texas in 2003.
Floyd always made time to enjoy life with his family and friends. He spent time outdoors fishing and relaxing, whether on the gulf coast beaches or on the shores of Lake Travis; he also enjoyed dancing, whether it was a waltz or country-western.
Floyd was an honorable man of integrity and great faith. He was a regular fixture at the local Lago Vista Catholic Church, St. Mary, Our Lady of the Lake, whether attending services or volunteering at the Lenten fish fry. He will always be remembered as a very kind man by all who knew him. He will surely be missed.
Floyd is survived by his beloved children; daughter Elizabeth Gannon of Houston, son Joseph Edwards of Houston, and son Walter Edwards and his wife Aimee Edwards of Cedar Park; grandchildren Patricia and Michelle Gannon, Nicholas Asselbergs Gannon, Brittany Brown, and Thane Clamann; great grandchildren Nevaeh, Noah, and Ian Boston and Camden Goss.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ann Marie Edwards, and parents Floyd Elisha and Ada Blanche Edwards.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Mary, Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 6100 Lohman Ford Road, Lago Vista, Texas 78645.
