David Harold McKee

On January 9, 1959, David married the love of his life, Linda. Together, they celebrated over 64 years of marriage. David served 8 years in the National Guard. He worked for the Porter Company for more than 35 years. He raised his 3 children in the North Austin neighborhood of North Acres. David spent much of his free time supporting their extra-curricular activities. This support continued to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He and his family were Charter members of Holy Word Lutheran Church. He loved spending time on the various farms with his cattle and horses. After retirement they decided to travel in their motorcoach and see the country. During these 10 plus years they made many lifelong friendships. The time spent volunteering with the COE at Lake Georgetown was his favorite.

David was preceded in death by father, David Lester McKee, mother Jessie Marie McKee, sister Dorothy Jergins. David is survived by wife Linda, children Pam (Murray) Choate, Tracie McKee and Ronn McKee. Brother Ronnie (Nancy) McKee, Sister-in-Law Shirley Smith, and Brother-in-Law Paul Jergins. Grandchildren, Clint (Laurie) Choate, Brandon (Kristan) Janes, Lauren (Lee) Carney, Bradley (Meagan) McKee, and Jordyn (Tyler Williams) McKee. Great-grandchildren Adyn, Mason and Ethan Janes, Wyatt and Clay Carney, and Blake McKee and special recognition to brat cat Festus. David is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
