He was born in Mathis, Texas, on July 17, 1950, to Eutimia D. and David N. Flores. David graduated from Mathis High School in 1968 and attended Del Mar College in Corpus Christi, Texas.
He carried his Mathis roots throughout his life. An agriculture student in high school. David remained devoted to animals of all kinds, particularly his horses and chickens. He also had the proverbial green thumb, plus, loved conjunto music and was a devout Dallas Cowboys fan.
David was preceded in death by his father and youngest sister, Gracie Flores. Survivors include: his companion of 35 years, Jean Abboud; mother, Eutimia Flores; sisters, Tina Moreno, Rosalinda Rodella (Johnny), Mary Cortinas and Sylvia F. Stewart (Larry); daughters Chastity Flores, Leyla Flores-Sanchez; sons David Flores, Jr., Brandon R. Flores, David F. Flores, and Bucky C. Flores; nieces Romilda Ballard, Cassandra Hager, Timia Cortinas, and Gracen Stewart; nephews Michael Moreno, Marc Moreno and Paul Flores; 7 Grandchildren. Special recognition is given to Jean’s daughter, Brenda Chance.
A visitation service is scheduled on Saturday, May 18, at 10:00 a.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Leander/Cedar Park, 1200 S. Bagdad, Leander, Texas 78641, 512-260-8800. Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 a.m., with burial at Hudson Bend Cemetery, Lakeway, Texas.
