Billy Weldon Bradford, 83, of Cedar Park, Texas, cast his final line and reeled in a life well-lived on June 5, 2024. Born in McCamey, TX, on February 17, 1941, Bill danced his way into this world and has been the life of the party ever since.
A social butterfly with the gift of gab, Bill never missed an opportunity to be the center of attention or to make someone's day brighter with his quick wit and infectious laughter. An avid outdoorsman, he was often spotted with a fishing rod in hand, embracing the tranquility of nature—unless he was telling a story, then tranquility had to wait.
Before he retired at 62 to focus on perfecting his archery aim and becoming a full-time lake enthusiast, Bill was the master mover as the owner/operator of Austin House Moving. His work ethic was only outmatched by his generosity; if you needed the shirt off his back, it was yours, no questions asked.
Billy is survived by his wife of 60 years, Vera Miller Bradford, who has been his anchor through all of life's storms and sunny days. Vera enjoyed nothing more than spending time in Billy’s arms on the dance floor. His legacy continues through his beloved children and cherished grandchildren: Carey Green & husband Blake and children AJ and Alisyn Welebob, Cassie Miller & husband Chris and daughters Kelsey and Kayla Miller, Cristy Crowder & partner Jeff McCulloch and children Gavin, Liam, and Emilia Crowder and Brian and Anna McCulloch, and Jeffery Bradford & wife Jamie and children Harley Lewis, Cooper and Reese Bradford. He could talk for hours about any of his children or grandchildren. His pride in their spirits, personalities, and accomplishments knew no bounds. He’s also survived by his sister Joyce Pearce and her husband Johnny, brother Ronnie Bradford, and brother David Bradford and wife Cindy, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, inlaws, and friends, all of whom are experts in telling a "Bill Bradford Original" story.
Predeceasing Bill are his parents Earl Allison Bradford and Mary Ethel Wells Bradford, and his siblings Arthur Lea Bradford, Earline Bradford, Cecil Bradford, and Bobbie Bradford McKee. Knowing Bill, he’ll greet them with a wide smile, open arms, and a plan for a smoked brisket or a fish fry.
A celebration of Bill's life, where stories will be told, laughter will echo, and memories will shine, will take place at the Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home at 1200 S. Bagdad in Leander, Tx. Memorial services will be held on June 12, 2024 at 2:00 PM. Please join us in celebrating Billy’s love of life, people, and family.
Bill, you've left us hooked on the wonderful memories and the lessons you've imparted. Your spirit will continue to be the catch of the day, every day. Tight lines and happy trails until we meet again.
