Annie Ray Davis, age 91, of Cedar Park, TX, passed away on August 26, 2023. She was born on April 27, 1932, in Warsaw, North Carolina, to the late Jesse Outlaw and Lela Jones-Outlaw-Banks. Annie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Roswell Davis, and her siblings, Bobby Outlaw, James Outlaw, David Outlaw, Leena Eisenman, and Laurice Chadwick.
Annie had a fulfilling career working for 25 years at Welch Foods in Northeast, PA. She dedicated herself to her work and made valuable contributions.
Annie's true passion, however, lay in the world of dance. She met her husband, Roswell, while teaching dance at Arthur Murray Dance Studios in North East, PA. Annie and Roswell were both dance instructors and shared a deep love for the art form. They exchanged vows on October 23, 1954, at St. Peter's Cathedral in Erie, PA, and their love story continued to flourish over the years.
In her free time, Annie enjoyed tending to her beautiful rose garden, indulging in sewing projects, and refinishing and collecting antique furniture. These hobbies brought her immense joy and allowed her to express her creativity.
Annie's memory will forever be cherished by her son, Gerald Davis of Lexington, KY; her daughter, Linda Beck of Edinboro, PA; her daughter, Bonnie Bennetsen of Cedar Park, TX; her grandchildren, Adam and Erin Beck of Erie, PA, Alex and Ashley Bennetsen of Cedar Park, TX, and Jennifer Shafaghi of Lexington, KY; as well as her great-grandchildren, Hailey Smith, Peyton and Jaxon Beck of Erie, PA, and baby Shafaghi of Lexington, KY.
Annie found solace and spiritual fulfillment through worship services provided by pastors from the Hill Country Nazarene. She looked forward to the weekly services held at her senior living apartment chapel, where she found comfort in singing hymns and connecting with her faith.
A ceremony to honor Annie's life will take place at 1:00 pm, Friday, September 22, 2023 at the North East Cemetery, located at 2616 Cemetery Rd (and Route 20) in North East, PA, where she will be laid to rest. Following the service at 2:00 pm will be dinner and reunion of family and friends at Meeder’s Restaurant in Ripley, NY.
Annie Ray Davis will be remembered for her love of dance, her dedication to her career, and her passion for hobbies that brought beauty and joy to her life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
