Murray Russell (Buddy) Gallaher, Jr. passed away February 27, 2019 at his home in the New Prospect community at the age of 82. Buddy was born June 12, 1936 in Gallatin, TN to the late Murray Russell, Sr. and Louise Bradley Gallaher.
He was preceded in death by one son, David Allen Gallaher and one grandson, Zachary Ryan Gallaher.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Geraldine Clanton Gallaher, one son Murray Russell (Rusty) Gallaher, III (Pat); two daughters, Sherry Gallaher Marks and Nancy Sharp, all of Lawrenceburg. Five Grandsons, Brad, Blake, Kyle, and Tyler Gallaher and Reese Sharp; One Granddaughter, Jordan Marks Yates; Two Step-Grandchildren, Jason and Melissa Urban; Great Grandchildren, Braydon, Jaycee, Devin, Jansen, Emma, Kasin, Zach, and Jacob Gallaher; Three Step Grandchildren, Addison, Ella, and Isabelle Urban; Special Aunt, Helen Bradley Bates.
Buddy was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church and a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a retired police officer, firefighter, security guard and retired employee of Suburban Propane.
Visitation to be held at the Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Chapel on Friday, March, 1, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at the Pettus-Turnbo Chapel on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 11 a.m. with Brother Brad Lowery officiating.
Interment will be at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ingram Sowell or David Crockett Elementary schools or New Prospect Baptist Church.
