Johnnie Andrew Powell Jr. age 85 of Lawrenceburg died Friday, August 5, 2016 at his residence. He was a native of Lawrenceburg, an Air Force Veteran of 23 years (E-7 MSGT) having served in Vietnam and a member of Gum Springs Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Juanita Stone Powell; four sons Roger Powell of ElliJay, GA, Ed Powell of Lawrenceburg, TN, Albert Powell of Pensacola, FL and Virgil Powell of Beach Grove, TN; one daughter Linda Fife of Lawrenceburg; two brothers Elbert and Patton Powell; one sister Virgina Warhurst; seven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Johnnie Powell Sr. and Erna Jordan Powell and one sister Mildred Troup.
Funeral service will be 11am Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Gum Springs Baptist Church with Chad Clanton and Tommy Maddox officiating and interment in Gum Springs Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5pm – 8 pm Monday, August 8, 2016 at Gum Springs Baptist Church.
