John Wesley Smith

John Wesley Smith, age 84, of Lawrenceburg, TN, passed away Saturday, March 8th, 2025 at Southern TN Regional Health System in Lawrenceburg. Wes retired from Sharp Motor Company in Pulaski, TN after serving for many years as a mechanic. He was of the Baptist Faith. He loved fishing, playing pool, working on old cars, and spending time with his loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Ruby C. Smith; parents, Roy G. Smith and Ora Mae Barnes Smith; son, Johnny David Smith; brothers, Red Junior Smith and Tommy Smith.

He is survived by his children, John Randall Smith (Stephanie) of Lawrenceburg, and Debbie Newton (Jerry) of Lexington, AL; grandson, Wesley Troppello of Lawrenceburg; brother, Bud Smith of Lawrenceburg; aunt, Charlene Foust; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; special caregiver, Charity Mendeze of Lawrenceburg.

Visitation will be held at Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 11th, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Graveside Services will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Leoma, TN, beginning at 1:30 p.m. Pastor David Simmerman will be officiating.
