He attended and graduated from Clarke High School in Mt. Pleasant, TN. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and retired from Bellsouth.

He was a member of the Greater Tabernacle Baptist Church of Lawrenceburg, TN; where he served on the Deacon board for several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and two sisters.

He leaves to cherish his memories: wife Pearl Bumpas; loyal and caring children: Danny Garner of Nashville, TN; Deborah Bellafant of Lawrenceburg, TN; Lynn (Al) Isbell of Madison, AL.; beloved grandchildren; Latoya Strode; Corey Isbell; two great grandchildren; Riley and Aria Isbell; two brothers: Charles Bumpas of Murfreesboro, TN; James (Curley) Bumpas of Lawrenceburg, TN; one sister; Mildred Harlan of Lawrenceburg, TN; one sister-in-law; Thelma Saddler; host of nieces, nephews and cousins: three devoted friends Collis Collier, Jr.; and John Brown; and Pam Towns.

Funeral Service will be held at Pettus-Turnbo Chapel, Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 1 pm with O.L. McWilliams officiating and interment in Bumpas Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Pettus-Turnbo, Thursday, March 24, 2016 from 11 am ~ 1 pm.
