Mr. James Horace Hughes, age 81 of Lawrenceburg passed away on December 14, 2013 at Centennial Hospital in Nashville. He was a native of Lawrence County, farmer and member of the Gandy Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Oxford Hughes of Lawrenceburg, TN; two sons, Michael Angelo Hughes of Columbia, TN, Joel Nathan Hughes of Huntsville, AL; three daughters, Belinda Fay Bonner of Jackson, TN, Barbara Delene Henderson of Kingston, TN, Jacqueline Gay Brown of Cleveland, TN; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Joyce Hughes, one son, Hoyt Dale Hughes, his parents, Joseph and Nettie Smith Hughes.
Funeral Service will be at Gandy Church of Christ, Tuesday, December 17 2013 at 11 am and he will lie-in-state at the church from 10 ~ 11 am. Larry Murdock will be officiating and interment will be in Lawrence County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Monday, December 16, 2013 at Pettus-Turnbo from 4 ~ 8 pm.
