He was a man of many interests with a deep love for his family and the beauty of God’s earth. He was a son of Lawrence County soil, raising cattle, chickens, and extensive agricultural crops. He was a lifetime farmer involved in multiple agricultural businesses. He was a man of intelligence and integrity serving as past board member for the Farm Bureau and the Tennessee Children’s Home, among many other agricultural boards and associations. He was a man of God and served for over three decades as an Elder at Salem Church of Christ. He was a dedicated father, husband, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, and cherished spending time on the farm with his family and loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his late wife, Joyce Trapp Robertson, and parents Hugh and Rachel Robertson.
He is survived by his current wife, Doris Todd Slagle Robertson; Children, Paul Robertson, Pam Andrews (Scott), Lana Barnes (Todd), and David Robertson (Erin); Step-Children, Debbie Wix (Eddie) and Todd Slagle (Teresa); 8 Grandchildren; and 6 Great Grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home on Friday, September 22, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The Funeral Service will be held at Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home on Saturday, September 23, 2023, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
Interment will be held at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
