On July 1, 2011, Helen Virginia Hughes of Laurel; Beloved wife of the late Charles Albert Hughes, Jr.; Loving mother of Linda Lee Sims and Charles A. Hughes, III (Deborah); Cherished grandmother of Stephen (Kelly) and Kristen Sims, Chase, Clayton and Christian Hughes and great grandmother of Tyler Smith; Dear Sister of Charles William Rudasill, Jr.; Mrs. Hughes was born on November 5, 1919 in Washington, DC. She was a sports fanatic. She especially cherished the Washington Redskins and the Nationals. She was a Navy wife that traveled extensively throughout the far East.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the FLECK FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 7601 Sandy Spring Rd, Laurel, MD on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, from 6pm-8pm. Funeral services will be held at the Fort Myers Chapel in Arlington National Cemetery at a future date.
