Yvette Genevieve Moore, of Las Vegas, passed away in hospice July 26, 2013, after a very brief fight against cancer. Born in December 1952, Yvette was a loving wife and mother, dedicated human resources professional, board member of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and an active community volunteer. Yvette was an adopted daughter of the Hopi Indian Tribe in the Butterfly Clan. Yvette was devoted to creating positive working environments for all employees of the companies where she worked, insisting the highest possible standards be observed. She was a governor's appointee to the Regional Transportation Commission, sought after panel speaker, and volunteer trainer for the State of Nevada Department of Business and Industry's Human Resource Development Committee. Her passion for life extended to the many here in the community proud to call her "friend." Yvette was always the first to volunteer when someone needed comfort or a helping hand, and would thank the many who have come forward to assist her family in their time of need. Yvette is survived by her husband, Hal Moore; son, James Joachim; sisters, Yvonne Shonberger and Valerie McCarty; brother, Victor Laury; and grandchildren, Brian and Jackie Hart; as well as her extended family of stepchildren and stepgrandchildren. Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12, at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
