Young Sik Choi passed away in the morning hours of August 6, 2017. He died at his home. During his final hours in this world, he was in prayer with his loving wife with all his children surrounding him.
Young Sik Choi was born in Manchuria on March 20, 1939, moved to North Korea after liberation in 1945, and then escaped to South Korea with his parents and sister around 1947. He was the only son of Jae Oh Choi and Bong Hwa Kim. Young Sik Choi graduated from Seoul National University, College of Law in [1965], and married his wife Eun Soon Choi in the same year. Young Sik Choi was a first generation foreign exchange banker in Korea during the rapid economic development. Young Sik Choi came to the United States as an expatriate dispatched to the Los Angeles branch of a Korean bank in 1978, and immigrated to the United States in 1981, where he continued his career as a banker. Eventually he moved to Las Vegas in 2001 to live with his son Chris and his family. More importantly, Young Sik Choi was a faithful Christian and a church elder. In the latter part of his life while living in Las Vegas, Young Sik Choi became passionate about Father School, Christian fellowship working with fathers to build strong family based on Christian faith and values. Young Sik Choi was an outstanding husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Eun Soon Choi, his son Dr. Chris Choi (his wife Cindy Choi and children Austin and Madion); and his son John Choi, Esq (his wife Yoon Jung Choi and child Jason). He will be missed by everyone whose lives he touched.
A visitation and celebration of life were held at Palm Mortuary in Las Vegas.
