She was born on October 27, 1952 in Las Vegas, Nevada, to Billy and Grace Bautista. At the age of 19, she married the love of her life, Walt Lloyd, on August 28, 1971.
Yolanda, better known as Yoly, worked as a PBX operator at the Mint Hotel for years. She eventually became a homemaker and volunteered her time at Charlotte Hill Elementary School. There she was able to use her creativity to its fullest by decorating the halls throughout the school. She even began to the copy room for other volunteering parents. Later on she began to help care for several family members. She truly enjoyed being able to help others, when she could.
Yoly had many passions in life. She liked to cook, bake, craft, listen to music, and watch movies (like La Bamba or Dirty Dancing on repeat). She enjoyed watching boxing and many other sports. She had an enormous passion for animals. Yoly had many pets along the way. Many family members called it her “zoo”. Her pets ranged from cats, dogs, tortoises, a pot-bellied pig, to even working with and training primates. She loved to spoil all her “babies”.
Everyone who knew her knew she loved her coke-a-colas and margaritas. When Yoly was in the room, you couldn’t help but be drawn into her stories. Her smile and laugh were contagious and that’s all you could do when she was around.
She is survived by her husband Walt; son Brent; daughter Jessica; son-in-law Alan; mother Grace; step-father Richard; father Billy; step-mother Kathy; sisters Joleen (Robert), Marcella (Paul), and Ramona (Bryan); and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, September 23, 2016 at Palm Eastern Mortuary; burial will follow at 2:00pm at Palm Eastern Cemetery.
