Willie L. Turner was born December 30, 1932 in Anniston, AL to the late Abraham and Cloran Walton. She is the eldest of six children. She attended Queensborough College (Queens, NY) and Medgar Evers College (Brooklyn, NY) where she received her B.S. Nursing degree. She retired from Creedmoor Psychiatric Center (Queens Village, NY) after thirty-five years of service. She accepted Christ at a later age.
She leaves to cherish her memories: a son Terry Walton (Delois); a daughter Rosalyn Turner; four grandchildren: Eric Turner, Iris Parks, Darren & Jeremy Walton; four great-grandchildren: Euneek, Erik, and Ella Turner, Prince Jeremy Walton; two brothers: John Hughley (Hollis, NY) and Tommydale Hughey (Birmingham, AL); and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
God saw the road was getting rough,
The hill was hard to climb.
He gently closed those loving eyes
And whispered, “Peace be thine”
The weary hours, the days of pain,
The sleepless nights are passed,
The ever patient worn out frame
Has found sweet rest at last.
