William David McNabola took his final journey home Sunday, October 21, 2018. The son of William and Margaret McNabola, who were immigrants from Ireland and England, he entered the world December 29, 1941, in Trona, California.
Bill spent what he would call an ideal childhood in this company town in the Mojave Desert. He excelled in both baseball and football. The discipline he learned through sports led to a lifetime commitment to hard work and accomplishment. He spent his early adulthood in the military as a Power Plant Management Engineer. Working for the Strategic Air Command (SAC), he was responsible for powering the intercontinental ballistic missile silos in Germany and Denver. Bill then completed his bachelor's degree in business administration at the University of Nevada Reno and began his lifelong involvement in the gaming industry. His humble beginnings as a slot machine mechanic evolved into him administering the establishment of gaming operations for the U.S. military bases in both Europe and Korea. During the final years of his career, he was the general manager of Gaming Labs International's Las Vegas office. While retired, Bill developed his own patented electronic Keno game that is currently in operation in local casinos. Any spare time was spent on the golf course. He shared his love of the sport with many of his friends from his childhood and continued to attend annual events throughout his life. He topped off his love of the sport by playing the Pebble Beach and Spanish Bay courses near Carmel, California.
Bill was preceded in death by his sisters, Marie and Gloria.
He is survived by his son, Sean; his nephews, Mark, Guy, and Paul; and his niece, Carol.
Services will be held at 5:00pm on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 South Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, Nevada 89123.
