Bill was born in Hutchinson, KS but his family moved to CA when he was 2. He grew up in the Ventura area, playing baseball and boxing. He enlisted in the Army after high school. After serving, he became a pro boxer until retiring at 27. He went to school for broadcasting and met his wife, Alicia, when she was the presiding nurse over his ill mother, Dorothy. Bill and Alicia married in 1978 and had their son, Bobby, in 1980. He started working for American Airlines within a few years thereafter. Bill also coached youth baseball and moved from CA to OK to Las Vegas.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and William, and his brothers Roy and Jerry. He is survived by his wife, Alicia, son, Bobby, and brother, Jim.

Services for Bill Graves will be on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 11am. The Funeral Service will be held at St. Viator Catholic Church in Las Vegas and will be live streamed at stviator.org. A reception for friends and family will follow.

The burial will be delayed until July 19, 2022 at 2pm at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial in Boulder City.”
