Bill graduated high school from Skiatook, Oklahoma in 1955 and played basketball and trombone in the band. He attended Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, and worked at Federal National Bank. After serving in the Army for a brief time he moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1962. He worked at the Thunderbird Hotel in the casino cage and was soon promoted to the Sahara Hotel Las Vegas as Vice President of Marketing. Bill married Barbara in 1967 and raised three daughters. He later transferred to Sahara Tahoe where he taught his kids to snow ski and ice skate. They moved to Oklahoma and opened the Fox and Horn, The Wine Cellar and Teddy Limpsky’s restaurants with great success. Bill was a successful executive in the casino and gaming industry. In 1977, he was Vice President and then President of Casino Marketing for the Frontier Hotel. He was responsible for bringing the first National Finals Rodeo to Las Vegas. In 1981, he transferred to the Las Vegas Hilton as Vice President of Marketing, then moved to the Golden Nugget as Vice President of Casino Marketing. In 1991, he moved to Atlantic City and worked as Vice President of Marketing for the Taj Mahal and then in 1996, moving back to Las Vegas, he worked at the Monte Carlo. Bill retired from the casino business in 2000. Bill is survived by three daughters, Christy Molasky, Jolie Schlossberg and Stephanie Pearson King; three sons-in-law, Alan Molasky, Jason Schlossberg and Dave King; seven grandchildren, Jess Alan Molasky, Josie Rose Molasky, Logan Anne Schlossberg, Tatum Dow Schlossberg, Peyton Michael Schlossberg, Quinton William Pearson and Addison Elaine Velardi; brother, John Cleek; three sisters Dortha Cahill, Mary Crawford and Margaret Gilley; ex-wife, Barbara Marikos; nieces; nephews; as well as extended family.
Y'all dust off your best hat and shine your boots! Let's celebrate Bill! Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 E. Eldorado Ln, Las Vegas, NV 89120. A committal service will follow the service at Palm Eastern Cemetery. King David Memorial Chapel handled the arrangements.
