Wayne Keith Wilken Sr. 66, a resident of North Las Vegas for the last 5 years passed away in the comfort of his home on February 19, 2025. Wayne was born November 7, 1958 in Peekskill, New York. Wayne joined the U.S. Army in 1976 as a Motor Transport Operator out of Los Angeles, CA. He was a decorated Sharpshooter and his character of service was honorable. Wayne made his way to Fontana, CA after his service in the Army where he was a frequent visitor of the local Pizza Hut. This is where he would tell the story of how he met the love of his life. He adored his wife Yolanda. They were gifted with 38 years of marriage and he would do anything to make her happy, including dancing with her in the halls of Pizza Hut while she was working trying to win her over. It worked. Every chance he got he was puckering up for kisses and telling her that he loved her. Their love story has been an inspiration to many as love like theirs was what dreams were made of.
He loved his kids and grandkids and would brag about them every chance he got. He managed to get every kid to dance to his "Shake it up" song, or if we were to ask him what he wanted for his birthday or Christmas, he’d always ask for one thing, a five-pound box of hundred dollar bills. Wayne was a loyal, dedicated, patient and knowledgeable truck driver who had worked at Robertson's Transport for over three decades. He created long lasting memories, friendships, and had a huge impact on the company. Also, being a professional driver, he was able to teach most of his kids how to drive and taught them truck driver signs along the way. He was always our human GPS whenever we got lost.
Wayne was an honest, sincere and authentic person. He was compassionate with a heart full of love. He was taken from us far too soon, but we promise to continue to tell stories and share memories that will help us carry on.
Even though Wayne will be missed by us, he is reunited with his parents, George Sr. and Marion Wilken, along with his brothers and sister, George Jr., Bill Wilken, and Karen Earnhardt.
Wayne is deeply missed by his beloved wife, Yolanda Wilken, and their children: daughter Monica Simpson and her husband Colin, son Wayne K. Wilken Jr. and his wife Jessica, daughter Alexis Duran, son Ryan Wilken, daughter Dolly Wilken, son Michael Wilken, daugthers Ashley, Christina, and Heather Wilken, and son Aiden Wilken.
He is also remembered fondly by his grandchildren: Alyssa and Celia Simpson, Sadie, Wayne III, and Veda Wilken, Lily, Leilani, and Grady Colburn, and Justin Jr., Emilia, and Abigail Kasper.
Wayne is survived by his brothers, Dale, Jeff, and Scott Wilken, along with many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends who cherish his memory.
