Wayne was born February 6, 1936, in Warner, Ohio, son of Charles L. and Minnie Mildred (Rhodes) Hall. He moved to Arizona with his family at the age of 10 and graduated from Phoenix High School in 1954. After graduating high school, he moved with his family to California. Wayne served one enlistment term in the U.S. Army stationed at the Presidio in San Francisco. He was united in marriage to Virginia Lea Hodges on February 20, 1966, in Westminster, California. For many years after his military service, Wayne was an owner and operator of a contract commercial moving company. His other businesses and occupations throughout his life included being an owner and operator of a commercial cleaning business; co-owner and operator of a Health and Fitness Center with his wife; commercial transit operator for the Nevada National Security (Test) Site; and maintenance and co-manager of an apartment complex with his wife for several years prior to his retirement in 2015. He enjoyed waterskiing and scuba diving in his younger years; and landscaping, music, video poker, playing cards, watching tv, and spending time with his family. Wayne was a strong and hardworking man; a selfless provider and protector, who was proud of and loved his family deeply. He was a man of few words but was always observing and listening – respectful and kind, taking in everything, always attuned.
Survivors include his wife, four daughters: Tamara Salvatierra of Puyallap, Washington; Pamela Randolph of Sammamish, Washington; Nicole Wilson and husband, Philip of Casper, Wyoming; and Tanya Kash and husband, Robert of Las Vegas, Nevada; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Wayne was preceded in death by his father and his mother; his son, Allen; two brothers, Charlie and Floyd; and three sisters, Donna, Esther, and Mary.
Memorial Services will be 11:20 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Nevada with Wayne’s brother-in-law, Shelby Hodges officiating. Interment will follow, and a Celebration of Life will be held at the home of Robert and Tanya Kash.
