Warren is survived by his sister, Linda Klein; two brothers, Sam and Fred Klein; Aunt Naomi Butter; and Uncle Harvey Tobkes. Warren passed away in Las Vegas on March 30th, 2020. He contracted the Covid-19 virus and with other underlying health issues wasn’t able to overcome the terrible sickness the virus causes. Warren’s profession most recently was working with many international clients with Commercial Real Estate Investments and Sales, as he was fluent in Japanese and Chinese. His many years living and being a part of the Las Vegas community made him an expert on this city’s business property market. Warren obtained several college degrees - an AS degree in Restaurant Culinary and Catering Management from Seattle Central Community College; a BS degree in Japanese Language and Literature from the University of Washington; and an MS degree in the field of Hospitality from UNLV. He also attended the Int'l Christian University in Japan for one year on an exchange student program. Warren was also a wine sommelier. Before Warren became a real estate broker, he was a successful restaurant and bar operator in Las Vegas and Japan. In Japan, he was food and beverage director at the Hotel New Sanno in Tokyo, as well as food and beverage director at the Palace Station in Las Vegas. He opened Big Dog’s Bar and Grill as the corporate development manager, was the general manager at Hamburger Mary’s and Regency Lounge. But his proudest time in the retail food industry was in the early to mid-1990s, when his vision and concept became a reality to open his own creation, The Garlic Café, a cult classic, an original garlic themed restaurant and bar, which featured an antipasti bar and the ability to choose a garlic level from 1 to 5 into the restaurant’s entrée’s and garlic ice cream for dessert. Warren was a loving man who cherished his family’s history and was the family historian. He passed his family knowledge and lineage down to his two nieces and nephew, Lauren, Brianna, and Jordan. All three learned so much about their family history from the time they spent with him, as well as every topic you could think of. Words cannot describe what Uncle Warren or “U Dub”, as they referred to him - meaning someone all three admired, respected, and loved unconditionally. Warren was a sweet gentle soul. The only time someone would see him upset was when the service or the food at a restaurant wasn’t up to his impeccable standards. He had a passion for service hospitality and having dishes prepared right. Our family would like to say how grateful we are to the Reisman family - Arlene, Robert, David and Larry, for being Warren’s extended family over the years. Warren had a wonderful life. He studied, learned, loved, and was most certainly loved back by so many. U Dub will always have a place in the hearts and minds of all who loved him. He will truly be missed. Goodbye brother, uncle, nephew, and friend. We will never be the same now that he is gone. Services were held at the King David Memorial Cemetery, Las Vegas, NV. King David Memorial Chapel handled the arrangements.
