Walter Carl McCarthy

Walt was born on 23 June 1951 to the late Lucille and Harold ”Mac” McCarthy. He spent his childhood in Berkeley, California with his sister Patricia and brother Wayne. In his early twenties, he joined the United States Air Force and spent time in Asia and England. Walt was very proud to serve. Usually, those in the military are constantly moving, but when Walt was stationed at Upper Heyford in England in the 1980’s, he loved it so much that he managed to stay there until 1994. He settled in the lovely village of Priors Marston, where he made many good friends. They have stayed in contact all these years.

In 1994, he was posted back to the USA for his final year of military service. Walt and Saraita married that year and settled in Las Vegas. Walt was a larger than life character, loved his music and lived life to the full. He will be remembered and missed by all who knew him.
