Lt. Col. (Ret.) Victor Scott, U. S. Army, passed away June 27, 2014 at age 94. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean wars. A resident of Spring Valley since 1980, Victor was born in New York City, the son of Nikodam and Justyna (nee Zavatska) Schotzky (also spelled Szczocki).
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ann (nee Marciw) Scott, with whom he shared 70 years of marriage, memories, laughter and a love of animals. He was also preceded in death by his son, "Zak" Scott; sister, Nadia Fal; and brother, Walter.
Victor had an avid interest in gun collections and military history. He recently donated a journal to the Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia, handwritten in 1776 by a soldier during the War of Independence. After retiring, Victor earned a degree in fine arts, took piano classes and briefly embarked on the adventure of performing as an extra in a TV drama series.
Our much loved Dad and Grandpa is survived by daughters, Dr. Christine Scott Chapman of Las Vegas, Maureen Falk and husband, Ken Falk of Las Vegas, and Francine Lower and husband, Tedd Lower of California; his granddaughter, Kelly Ann Barrett and husband, Seth Barrett and great-grandson, Pierce Scott Barrett of Colorado; granddaughter, Dana Christine Richards and husband, John Richards of Arizona; nephew, Andrew Fal; and niece, Ellen Fal Morlock of New York.
Services will be at noon, Saturday, July 5, at Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Avenue (702) 464-8500.
