It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Valerie Sharlene (Ross) Thompson, who departed this life on March 30,2025, at 12:20 AM at Mountain View Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada.Valerie was born on October 18, 1961, in Birmingham, Alabama, to Bettye Ramsey and the late William Ross. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who brought joy and laughter to everyone around her.She is survived by her beloved mother, Bettye Ramsey, and her siblings: Michelle Ross (elder sister), Tony Ross (brother), and Latonya Watts (younger sister). Valerie had one daughter, Valeria McKeough, and found immense joy in being a grandmother to Amaya McKeough, Kylie McKeough, and Ronin McKeough. She was also blessed with a great-grandchild and a large, loving family of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.Valerie was deeply devoted to her husband, Hollis Thompson, the love of her life. She cherished every moment spent by his side, always exclaiming with pride, “That’s my husband!” Together, they shared a passion for traveling to exotic islands and enjoying movies—creating memories that will forever be cherished.Valerie will always be remembered for her compassionate heart, joyous spirit, and vibrant energy. She loved to dance and uplifted those around her, inspiring them to embrace life with enthusiasm and self-motivation.

A visitation will occur from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Palm Mortuary - Cheyenne, 7400 West Cheyenne Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89129. A funeral will occur Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Palm Mortuary - Cheyenne, 7400 West Cheyenne Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89129. A graveside will occur Friday, April 11, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Bunkers Memory Gardens, 7251 W Lone Mountain Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89129.
