It is with great sadness that we honor the memory and mourn the loss of a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and Friend. Troy Donald Jackson Sr., known by loved ones as "Don," was born on January 7th, 1939. He was the youngest of five older sisters.
Our father was very caring and loving, with a little bit of "Jackson's sass and humor.” Don served in the US Air Force as a Staff Sergeant, loading for Globemaster cargo aircraft during the Vietnam War. While
serving as an Honor Guard, he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan, Alaska, and the Philippines and last in Salina, Kansas. Don was also in three US Air Force plane crashes and survived all three. In addition to his
dedicated service, Don found time to be an extra in a 1962 war film shot in the Philippines called Merrill’s Marauders, where he was killed in action five minutes into the movie. As his years of service began to come to a close, he married Winona Jane on December 19, 1959, he had the love and faith of Jehovah throughout his life while raising five children through the 47 years they were together until she passed
in 2006. Throughout these years, Don worked very hard with several businesses, including owning his own and working to repair restaurant equipment. He lived in several cities with his family and eventually passed down his trade to a few family friends and his sons.
Today, Don lives on in the hearts of his children: Troy Jr., Connie, Tammy, Joshua, and Rebekah. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Matthew, Madison, Marshall, Montana, Katelynn, Hunter, Jade, Josh Jr.,
Andrew, Brandon, Kalani, Mia, and Jahlee. He is also beloved by his eight great-grandchildren. Later in his life, he married his beautiful wife, Lucia Catayong from the Philippines in 2014, (she worked at Bellagio for 24 years at Cirque Du Soleil as a usher) and lived together in Las Vegas, Nevada, until he passed away at the age of 84 on Tuesday, February 21, 2023.
