On August 16, 2021, the world lost a bright light, a man who lived fully, loved deeply and made everyone around him better. Our beloved Torrian was born to parents, Sheila Robinson-Hodges and Darryl Turner in Jackson, Mississippi on May 14, 1980. From the age of 8 years, he was raised in Oceanside, California by his adoptive parents Pamela and Ernest Tolles who loved him deeply. He later re-located to Las Vegas, Nevada to be closer to family. Torrian was full of life. Adventurous and committed to serving others, Torrian joined the Army right after high school and served for four years. Once he was honorably discharged from the Army, he went on to be a multi-talented jack of all trades. Constantly seeking knowledge, Torrian held a multitude of degrees to showing incredible achievement throughout his lifetime.
Torrian was a fun, loving, and caring person. He had a humor that was so infectious and a smile and laugh that could light up any room. He was one who loved wholeheartedly, so much so, that he challenged everyone he touched to reach their fullest potential. He had fierce support and belief in those he cared for and had a heart that could swallow you whole.
Torrian was also an adventurous man who never faltered or shied away from tackling new experiences. He traveled far and wide across the world, giving him an otherworldly knowledge about life. His adventures led him into so many activities including his love for motorcycles, horseback riding, playing hockey, studying karate in Japan, flying planes, fishing, and becoming a formidable rugby player. Torrian was a man who lived fully and completely every single day of his life.
Torrian was most proud, happy, and fulfilled once he rekindled his relationship with his wife and soulmate Erica Steele. Their friendship and love transcended their years apart and they looked forward to their life together. Torrian not only became a fiercely loving partner to Erica, but a proud and doting father to Taylynn and Calvin who felt his deep commitment to them every day and adored their “Daddio”. Torrian was a man who loved his friends and family more than life itself and gave everything he had to make others happy. He will truly be missed by all of the lives that he touched. Torrian, your bright light will shine in our lives forever.
A celebration of life for Torrian will be held Tuesday, September 14, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Palm Cheyenne Mortuary, 7400 West Cheyenne Avenue, Las Vegas, NV 89129.
