Thomas G. Smiley, age 87, passed away on March 28, 2023. He was survived by his wife of 59 years, Jan, his son Michael and partner Betty, daughter and son-in-law Susan and Glenn Gorss, granddaughters Veronica, Desiree and Serene; sister JoAnn Creason, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Tom was the most unforgettable, funniest, cleverest, loving man. He loved his family above all else.
Tom was born in Tomahawk, Wisconsin on October 31, 1935, to parents Virgil and Elsie Smiley. He served in the ARAF (Army Reassigned to Air Force) at the end of the Korean Conflict. He attended Millikan College after his discharge. After college he hitchhiked to Los Angeles, California where he met and married Jan. After their retirement, they moved to Henderson, NV where they lived for almost 18 years.
He described himself as “a ray of sarcastic sunshine every single day”. He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
