Thomas E. Reiss

Thomas E. Reiss, age 82, passed away on February 16, 2016. He was born in Altamont, IL on December 7, 1933 and was a resident of Las Vegas for 5 years. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1953 to 1956, serving on the USS Essex (CVA-9). He was preceded in death by his wife; Lottie M. Reiss, parents; Ben and Abbie Reiss, sisters; Lucille Francis (Bob) and Darlene Proefrock (Loren). He is survived by daughters; Pat Mulford (Ron) Louisville, KY, Pam Thomas (Rodney) Las Vegas, NV, son; Tom Reiss, Benton, KY, granddaughter; Jennifer Gruchala, St. Charles, MO and 3 great grandchildren; Sage, Shane and Spencer, his sisters; Helen Johanns, Farmer City, IL and Ruth Ann Stapp, Winnsboro, TX and many nieces and nephews.

Tom loved to fish, play Blackjack, watch his St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Bears and NASCAR, he also loved to travel. He was a member of the VFW post in Las Vegas.

Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. with mass following, both at St. Cecilia Parish in Mt. Prospect, IL on Friday, April 29. Interment immediately following at 11:30 at St. Michael the Archangel in Palatine, IL.
