Thomas R. Kaylor, 76, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2016. He is survived by his life partner of 42 years, Jim Black; his daughter, Kathleen Monigold; his son, Kenneth Kaylor; a brother, Jack Kaylor; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many close friends. Preceding him in death are his father and mother, Dan C. and Edna Francis (Stephens) Kaylor; a sister Kathleen Fly.
Born and raised in Southern Ca., Tom was a long-time resident of Las Vegas, NV. In the 1960's, Tom joined the U.S. Navy. After serving his country, Tom joined the U.S. Forest Service. His expertise in detailed specialty work as a top dental technician prepared him to pursue his talent as a gifted stained glass artist. In 2002, Tom retired to Sandy Valley, NV. and built his own stained glass studio where he created many notably beautiful works of art in the traditional leaded glass manner for galleries and businesses in Ca. and NV.
As a true Renaissance man, Tom was gifted in many areas of life. An expert baker, he always delighted family and friends ie: best carrot cake bar none! Tom also realized his passion as a military man, a stained glass artist and a German historian.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm. on July 22, 2016 at Palm Mortuary.
