Theresa was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey on April 9, 1955 to Janice Margaret Kansky and Vincent Patrick Torro. She was the 3rd of 7 children and is survived by her daughter Riley, sister Patricia, brothers Craig, Timothy, and Christopher, Timothy’s wife Brenda, Christopher’s husband Daniel, and her dog Daisy. She was known by her family and close friends as Teri. After growing up in New Jersey, Teri moved to North Carolina. There she discovered her love for the Blue Ridge Mountains and singing songs while playing her guitar. She would later use her talents to sing and teach country songs to her daughter. In 1984, she moved to Las Vegas to be closer to her sister and started a family of her own. Mount Charleston was always at the top her list of places to go and drink hot chocolate by the fire at the lodge during the winter time. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she would always talk about how nothing is more peaceful than a fresh snow fall. Teri loved her daughter very much, and was so proud of the woman she has become. Teri also loved spending time with her sister Marilyn, drinking tea and talking about life. She would often take her mother Janice out to eat or to the casino for a little gambling. Teri was thoughtful and kind, putting others needs before her own. She was always the life of the party and loved making people laugh. She had a smile that could light up a room. Teri was so charismatic and could talk to anyone about anything. This gift for gab served her well for the many years that she worked in the casino industry in various roles. One of her favorite movies to watch later in life was the Family Stone. If you ever get a chance to watch it, just know she is enjoying it with you. Teri passed away on Dec 9th, 2021. She is now in heaven with her mom, dad, and sister Marilyn, looking out for the rest of us until we meet again. Until then, she is in our thoughts daily, and will be missed by all of us.
