A dedicated mom, highly respected boss, and beloved friend and family member, Teri (Young) Browdy passed away on May 22, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. Teri had a brief, but courageous battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
Born, September 28, 1964, to Clyde and Sandra Young. Teri grew up in Pueblo, Colorado with her brother Kenny. Teri started out with a zest for life and determination. In her youth, she was a star softball player. In middle school, Teri met the “Wolf Pack,” who would become her lifelong dearest friends. A 1983 graduate of Pueblo South, Teri played basketball, was on the gymnastics team, head cheerleader and homecoming queen. As a Kappa Kappa Gamma at CSU she received a Political Science Degree in 1986. The high achiever that she was, she also obtained an MBA from the University of Denver.
In her down time Teri enjoyed watching football and loved playing golf. Fun fact: Teri enjoyed reading so much, she read over 400 books on her kindle over this past year.
In 2000 Carson was born to Eric and Teri Browdy. Carson was the absolute light of Teri’s life! Her entire world revolved around him, and she would not have had it any other way! She was so proud of her ‘noodle’, playing college lacrosse and recently graduating Utah Tech University. Additionally, for the last 6 years, Teri was blessed with the daughter that she never had. Megan Donnelly was much more than her son’s girlfriend; she was her partner in crime, companion, friend, and in the end, caregiver. “Meggy” brought her much love and happiness! Teri’s other great loves were her German Shepherds and kitties.
Teri worked and was highly respected in various support and management positions at the Rocky Flatts Environmental Technology Site from 1991-2005. She then worked for the Nevada National Security Site from 2006-2018 as a manager and director for Waste and Environmental Management. In July of 2018, Teri joined Longenecker & Associates as the VP for Project Delivery and later took on the role as Director for Mission Assurance in 2020, a key leadership role at the Nevada National Security Site.
Teri’s greatest gift was her generosity and loyalty toward those whom she cared about. The length to which she went for those she loved was immeasurable. Her ability to turn any regular story into a full-blown comedy routine could never be replicated. Teri was a true force of nature, and it goes without saying, that her presence on this earth will be missed immensely.
Teri is survived by her son, Carson. Megan Donnelly of Las Vegas, NV; her brother, Kenny Young of CO; Her 2nd mom, Cheryl Hindsley of CO; her close cousins, Andrea & James Robinson and family of MO; Bill & Donna Records and family of CO, and several other cousins and family members; several dear current and former co-workers; her 3 fur babies; and of course, her beloved Wolf Pack. Proceeded in death by her best friends and parents, Clyde and Sandra Young and Aunt Verena Mitchell.
The family would like to thank the nurses, doctors, and staff at Mountain View Hospital ICU and Oncology and the caregivers at Bright Star Home Health.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 10, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Mountain View Lutheran Church. A reception will follow. An additional celebration of life is planned in Pueblo, CO for June 20th at Praise Assembly of God at 1:00 pm. Reception to follow at the Old Towne Carriage House.
