SYLVIA STONE Loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Sylvia Stone, 92, of Las Vegas, passed away May 26, 2012. She was born Sylvia Kostow in Chicago, Ill., May 2, 1920, the youngest daughter of Rebecca "Becky" and Ben Kostow. She was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Kostow and his wife, Gladys; and her sister, Belle Kostow Jacobs and her husband, Sam. Sylvia worked in accounting for various companies in Chicago and California before moving to Las Vegas, where she has resided for six years, the two at Merrill Gardens Assisted Living. Sylvia was feisty, an avid reader, enjoyed movies of all kinds and loved to watch and play poker, especially Texas Hold 'Em. She made friends easily and brought happiness to her friends and family with her caring ways. Sylvia is survived by her daughter, Joyce Kessler; son, Steven Biegler (Tess); granddaughters, Marla Kessler-Simkin (Fred) and Stacey Weir (Colin); grandson, Ryan; granddaughter, Stephanie; twin great-grandsons, Sebastian and Zachary; and great-granddaughter, Allegra. Sylvia also leaves behind four special nieces and their families in Chicago. Sylvia brought much happiness to all that knew her and will be missed by her family and friends. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 1, at King David Memorial Chapel, 2697 E. Eldorado Lane, Las Vegas, NV 89120.
