Stuart O. “Stu” Churchill went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 12, 2018.
He passed away suddenly from cancer at age 80. He was a long time resident of the Metro Detroit area; Oscoda, Michigan; and the Las Vegas communities. Stu served in the army and retired from a long career as an auto repair store manager. He enjoyed singing in his church choir, playing golf, coaching youth sports’ teams, playing cards and taking care of his cats. Stu treasured time spent with friends and family. He is survived by his loving wife, of 58 years, Jeanne; his children Joe (Olga) and Carrie (Dave); his grandchildren Ann Marie and Jessica; his sisters Kathy and Jane and their families. Stu will also be missed by his “furry children”, Soco and JJ. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 4 at 11:00 am at Community Lutheran Church, 3720 E. Tropicana, Las Vegas, NV 89121. Donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice or to the music department at Community Lutheran Church.
