Stephen, Jim and I miss you like crazy.  We miss you helping us, we miss you going to Disneyland, Nashville, cruising, Jerry's Nugget with us.  We miss everything. The house is so empty and most of all right now I miss you chasing the pigeon's off the roof. haha.  Jim and I have to get out there today because they built a nest and they are hanging around cooing.  We love and miss you lots.  I was telling a new friend about the day you left us and how I tried in vain to save you, and she cried like a baby.  We still cry for you Stephen. Stephen was more like a son rather than a brother-In Law.  It was my honor to take care of him in my home for several years and to see him find happiness with a family that would take him places and give him an equal member family life.  God Bless Stephen until we meet again.

Well Stephen, it's been a year since you left us and the pain of missing you is still with us.  We came to visit you on Sunday Oct 6th 2013 at exactly 11:01am.  Your leaving us has left a void in our hearts and in our home.  We love and miss you so much.  Until we meet again, take care and we love you.

Stephen, tomorrow is Easter and it will be our first Easter without you.  Our hearts still ache for you and we miss you so much.  Your great niece is so beautiful.  You would be so proud of Joshua.  We love you so much.  Your sister Karal.

Stephen has been missed so much lately.  I keep forgetting to take things to work that I need.  He was my stage hand and never let me forget anything.  I owe him a big hug when we finally meet again....and that will someday happen for certain.

Stephen it's only been three months since you left us so suddenly and we miss you so much.  Everywhere we go and everything we do reminds us of you, going to Nashville, cruising, Denny's, going to Disneyland, going to Glenda's, going to Jerry's Nugget, going to Walmart, me leaving for work in the morning and you saying have a good day sis, me coming home and you saying how ya doing sis, watching the Dallas Cowboys play, going out in the backyard and the list goes on and on.  Stephen you changed my life forever.  Thank you for being you.  Jim misses you so much as well, but I will let him post how much he misses you.  We will meet again one day. Stephen will always be in our hearts and prayers.  Karal and Jim, you made Stephen's life so full.  You opened your home and included him in your lives.  Your unselfish love is a beacon to all who know and love you.  May God bless you and give you peace and fulfillment in knowing that you gave Stephen so much love and purpose in life. As longtime friends of Sheila and Rick and their children, we are very saddened to hear of Stephen's passing. He was a very loving and caring person.God bless Karal and all the family

The Bee family was privileged to have know Stephen for over 37 years and we were so blessed! He was always a sweetheart to be around , joking laughing enjoying our families good times together! Karal, I am so sorry for your loss.  I know the depths of the yearning for your loved one.  Time is needed to learn to live with the new perspective following such a loss. My thoughts and prayers are with the Ambre family in this time of loss. Stephen was a wonderful guy: full of life and enthusiastic about the future. I worked professionally with Stephen for nearly a year, coaching him in job readiness skills, encouraging him to speak positively at all times, pursuing with him his dream job. Stephen was always appreciative, respectful, friendly and dedicated in his quest to find meaningful employment and gain a renewed sense of independence in life. 

I will remember Stephen as one of our most tenacious clients and one of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure to work with.

24 hours before my Father-inlaw passed away, I promised him that Karal and I would make certain Stephen was cared for. 

At first we tried to help Stephen from a little more distance and he could maintain his own apartment.  His handicap proved too much for him to be able to function.  We moved him into a room in our home that we had prepared for his Mom and Dad before they passed.  For several years he lived in our home and what had first began as what I felt was an obligation, eventually grew into a complete family situation.  I figured he would be with us until our twilight years.  I researched his handicap and learned how folks with his disability worked.  About the 3rd year of him living with us I had learned a lot about his handicap and we had begun to make leaps and bounds on him becoming a productive family member.  About year #3 Stephen and I became very close friends, just like brothers, and he became my personal stage hand on almost all of my work venues.  Even if I had to do a tour or a gig out of town we always called each other day and night.  Karal and I would always take him with us everywhere we went, but no longer did we feel obligated to him, but we had all grown very close and we wanted to share everything with him.  I don't think anyone else was able to reach Stephen in the same manner as Karal and I did.  It took a few years to meld into a solid family with Stephen but it did just that and we never anticipated or wanted it to end.  It takes time and love to care for a handicapped person......not distance. 

 He loved Disneyland and for the first time in has life he made many extended vacation trips there with us for a few years.  Indeed we were a solid family.  He went on 3 cruises and he loved those trips to Nashville!.  For Stephen, his most anticipated trip was about to happen this Nov. 1st.  He was going to his first CMA Awards show.  I told him that he was a great stage hand and that he deserved to go to the show.  He was excited about renting his tux and going to the After-Party for the event.  Karal and I will keep his seat for the show.  His jacket and picture will be placed on his seat as his chair is near the nominees.  

Stephen called me on my cell when I was working what was to become my final day on my day gig and that cell call came at 11:01am in the morning and hung up without leaving a message.  He passed between that time and 11:20am in his room at our home.  The CMA date for the show is 11/01/2012.  My Mom and John came to visit us this past Tuesday and her plane was scheduled and did land at 11:01am in the morning.  Something tells me that Karal and I will feel his energy on CMA night November 1st.... 11/01.  I will have a small drop of his ashes in a special made dog tag that I will wear on all of my gigs and on CMA nights.  He loved being my stage hand and going to all the band gigs and events.  I will keep him on the gigs....around my neck (ashes) and in my heart.  Good night my beloved brother....until we meet again.

There are so many things I want to say, but there is not enough room.  My brother was taken so suddenly from us that I think we are still in shock.  5 years ago my husband and I took my brother into our home and what was only supposed to be a one day stay turned into 5 years.  I would not change one thing about what we did and I know that Stephen was so greatful. We took him on vacations that he would not have ever been able to go on.  He loved Disneyland, Nashville TN and going on cruises.  You never know when it's your time and when that big guy in the sky say's come with me, you just have to go.  Until we meet again Stephen, we love and miss you so much.  You will never be forgotten.  Your sister....Karal

Stephen was a blessed soul. We first met Stephen at Sam's Town, where Jims band would play. Stephen was always full of energy. Running around meeting and greeting people. Later on my wife Mary and I had the pleasure to talk again to Stephen when we picked up a bunny from Jim and Karals home. When leaving Jim asked Stephen to give Mary and I a ride to the bus stop. When we go close Stephen said lets keep going to Calif. We laughed so hard that day. Never thought that would be the last day we would see him. We had plans to go to Disneyland all of is in December. We will miss him. God take Good care of him... Stven and Mary... Jim and Karal, rest easy, it will be alright. Love you both...
