Sarah Brunetti Laurita was born in Brooklyn on October 3, 1936. She was raised by her foster parents, the Ciampas, in Ozone Park, NY, and resided most of her life in Bayside, Queens before moving to Las Vegas in 1994.
She is pre-deceased by her beloved husband of 54 years, Rocco Laurita, her sister Louise Gaglione, her brother, Joseph Barbaro and her sisters Maimie and Francis.
She is survived by her sons, Michael of Las Vegas, his partner, Alex, and son, Robert of Los Angeles.
She had many foster sisters over the years she spent in her foster home (and just as many stories!). Sarah was very active in community activities including being a Den Mother, fundraising and volunteering for her church. She worked as a receptionist for the Local 3 Electrician’s Union in Jamaica, Queens, where she was proudly named their first Employee of the Month. She was the life of every party, the winner of every argument, and always the first to laugh about anything. Mostly, she was a full time Mom and amazing lasagna-maker. She loved going to the theatre, poker slots, glittery tops and all things Disney.
She touched the lives of so many as she showed them how to live and love all with a smile as bright as the strip.
Arrangements under the direction of Palm South Jones Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
