He was born to his loving mother, Mary Rajnai on December 6, 1937 in Budapest Hungary. Growing up he was a gifted athlete and especially excelled in soccer.
Alex escaped to Vienna, Austria from the Hungarian revolution in 1956 along with his family. There he met his future wife to be, Maria “Zuzi” Martinovich and her family. The families joined forces and formed an acrobatic group with his uncle Endre Stanek and became circus performers. They had their sights set to chase the American dream and landed in Conway, Arkansas in 1957. There they perfected their teeterboard act and started booking shows traveling across America from coast to coast. Radio City Music Hall in New York to the Ed Sullivan show, the Las Vegas Dunes hotel in Frederic Apcar’s Casino De Paris in 1961 and everywhere in between. They performed all over the world until Las Vegas became their home in 1972 where they worked at Circus Circus for many years. Alex later formed his own group, “The 7 Alexanders” with his son Sean “Shanika” his wife Suzi, Sandor “Sandy” Kovesi, John Martinovich, Frank Matus and Lajos Richter. For much of the 70’s and 80’s they performed in shows at the MGM Grand Hotel in Don Arden’s Hallelujah Hollywood, The Las Vegas Hilton’s “Bal Du Moulin Rouge” and Flamingo Hilton’s “City Lights” to name a few. After the teeterboard act was retired Alex worked with IATSE Local 720 as a carpenter/stage hand until his retirement in mid 2000. Alex’s priority in life was to make people laugh. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved people especially his family. He was a very kind, generous, beautiful and loving man who will surely be bringing smiles and love to his family members in heaven. Alex is survived by his loving wife Maria “Zuzi” Rajnai, his loving son Sean “Shanika” Stanek, his daughter-in-law Gina Stanek who always called him “Popsicle”, his sisters-in-law Elvira Martinovich, Bobbi and Eric Adams, his uncle Endre Stanek who currently resides in Vienna, Austria with his wife Liana, his ex-acrobat partner Sandor Kovesi and wife Elizabeth, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.
