Samuel Gerard Zaino was born on July 7th, 1947 to the loving parents of Dominic and Mary Zaino at Mineola Hospital on Long Island New York.
Sam loved to cheer for all New York based sport teams, especially the New York Yankees, Giants and Jets. In his earlier years he was a wrestling student at Westbury High School where he met the mother of his children and life-long friend Connie Zaino. Together they left their home in New York with their two (2) sons Dominic and Sam Jr. to start a new life in Las Vegas, Nevada where he opened his own landscape company called Elegant Landscaping in 1984. For thirty plus (30+) years he worked as a general landscape contractor where he taught his sons, grandson and many of their friends about the landscape industry and the proper ways to care for plant life. As the years went on Sam passed down the business to his kids who renamed the company to Landcraft Inc. but continued to be a part of the day to day operations until his last day.
Samuel Gerard Zaino is survived by his former wife and best-friend Connie Rose Zaino, Sons Dominic Gerard Zaino and Samuel Gerard Zaino Jr Grandson James Gerard Zaino, Granddaughters Kaitlyn Reese and Kennedy Rae Zaino, Great-Grandson Grayson James Zaino and many loving, nieces, nephews and extended family. Sam was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and friend to everyone.
A special thank you to the people at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas for their loving care and support during his final days. Also, the family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude towards Palm Northwest Mortuary and Cemetery for being very accommodating and understanding during this difficult time.
