I remember Samuel ,or Ricky as I used to call him, from when I was a teenager many long years ago. We worked at Burger King together and he was my best friend. We would try to get our days off together so we could hang out together. He was so much fun. He tried to give me my first driving lesson, with semi disastrous results, which we laughed about a lot later. He knew me by my middle name, Doreen, and on the days we would hang out together all day, he would either call me when he got home from dropping me off, or I would call him and we would be on the phone half the night. His mom used to joke that she had no idea what we found to talk about since we were already together all day. Circumstances and time caused us to lose touch and I have thought about him many times over the years. I even tried to find him just to say "hi" and"I've missed you."I am sorry he is gone but I am so glad he is my brother in Christ because I will see him again one day.I love you, Ricky Filigenzi. And I'll see you in Heaven one day.

Sam and I worked together at The East side Cannery. He was in security and I worked in the casino cage. We would so time have our lunch beak together and just talk. He was a good friend. I will miss you and always think about you my friend


Samuel and I attended Bible Studies together and sang in the choir together for a short time. He was my brother in Christ and helped me learn so much. My wife Barb and I stood up with Samuel and Robin when they got married. I am so sad to hear of his passing but so Happy that he is with Jesus walking the streets of Heaven. Rest In Peace my friend. I know you are singing with the angles. 

About 40 years ago Samuel and I worked together at the MGM Grand Hotel where he was a waiter and I was  hostess. We lost track of each other until we met up again at Red Rock Baptist Church in 2002. I walked up to him and asked him if he had a younger brother named Ricky,to which he replied ,"no that was my nickname." We ended up getting married and he never let me forget that I thought he was Ricky's older brother. I still chuckle about that these days. He was the best dancer in the 70's and 80's, my girlfriend Joanne and I used to watch him dance all of the time in the discos. He is up there with Jesus now dancing and singing so when I arrive , Samuel, maybe we can tango together... "Robin Brown"

I miss you Sam, I can remember how we always laughed and every time you told me a joke I wouldn’t get it and you’d have to explain it to me and we would laugh. I cant wait to see you again. Love, your sister , chargee

About four years ago Samuel and I said hello at church with a hug and a smile.  Not long after,  we passed one another on the steps at 24 hour fitness.    Membership at the same gym was another  common bond.   Sometimes we met a few minutes before I headed to my senior  class.   He was disciplined in cardio, balance and strength exercises.    Over time we shared a few meals, many cups of coffee visits, life stories, memories,  prayers and several laughs. Always a gentleman,  I will continue to  treasure our special friendship.  You radiated your love for Jesus.  Samuel rest in peace and one day we will meet again.

Thank you, Samuel, for the many times you sang so beautifully at The Four Seasons Church.  I remember telling you that when you sing, don't look at the people in the congregation, instead look and see Jesus watching you and listening to you sing.  After all, it was Jesus you were singing to anyway.  Now you can sing to Jesus in person.

     I was sitting here thinking about you and what I remember about you and all I could think about was dancing with you. It put such a smile on my face! I loved dancing with you, you had a way of making the entire room disappear, even though every eye would be on you. You will be missed our precious Samuel but are finally home.

There are too many memories to share
Me  and my brother Samuel were so close that he had me over his house for some weekends 
We laughed so much and he was so precious. Making me breakfast and lunch and dinner, basically spoiling me. I miss the times he would come for coffee or we would go to lunch
He was the BEST. I can't tell you the aching in my heart for him
I know I will see him again but I miss him so badly. My best friend is gone 
He loved Jesus with all his heart he loved his pastor Bill Walker and his church Four Season Church and most of all, he loved his family
 He sang with all his heart and touched the lives of so many people and still does. I miss you my precious  brother  and best friend your home now,  and in the  arms of Jesus.  I can't wait to see you again soon and very soon
 My Blessed brother you are missed so bad.  So rest in peace Samuel and we will be together again

Samuel George Filigenzi born in Las Vegas, NV on June 27, 1957 passed away in his Las Vegas home on January 20, 20021, of natural causes. He was a security guard at the Cannery Casino & Silverton Hotel.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charlotte Elizabeth  Filigenzi and Samuel Anthony Filigenzi of Las Vegas, NV. 
He is survived by his ex-wife Robin A. Filigenzi of Las Vegas, sister Charlene Talley (Jim) of Fordyce, Arkansas, and their three children, sister Leanne Martin (David) and her two children, sister Patty Madnick and her three children, and brother Ralph James Filigenzi (Tracy) all of Las Vegas, NV. He was the uncle to 8 nieces/nephews and more than a dozen great-nieces/nephews.
Sam was very talented; he was an amazing singer and dancer. His favorite song was “I Know That My Redeemer Lives” by Samuel Medley. It was amazing to watch him dance on stage in Las Vegas back in the 70s and 80s, he was absolutely the best. Sam’s sense of humor was unmatched, he kept everyone laughing.  There was always so much smiling and laughter when you were around him. He will truly be missed.
