

Russell (Bud) Gersch, 89, passed from this life to next peacefully, at home surrounded by family on Oct 3, 2018. He was born in Chicago Ill, in 1929. Bud a Korean War vet proudly served with 101st airborne, where he travelled all over Europe as an Army Light Weight Boxer. After his service completed he was a finance manager for Rush St Cadillac. He married Carol Peterson and had two children.
Bud’s next career was an expert operation engineer helping to build one tower on Marina City. He married Linda Horwitz began a new life in Las Vegas. When Bud reinvented his career as a bellman, bell captain and spent the next 40 years in the casino business. Retiring at 75 years young from Excalibur.
Bud loved life, lived it his way always and fully. A friend to many, a class act, a gentleman whose positive hopeful spirit never judge and uplifted those around him.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents George and Sadie, his brother Robert (Mava) first wife Carol and grandchild Randi. He is survived by Linda his wife and friend for 54 years. His caring sons Michael (Betsy) and Devin. Devoted daughters Lori, Yvonne, and LaVenne, Grandchildren Misty, Robin, Derek, Dillon, Cheyenne, Sierra, Aurora, and Lili Ash K. Bud left us a treasure of happy memories, a lifetime of love. His wonderful sense of humor will keep us smiling until we are reunited again.
