Ruby Jackson-Brown

Ruby Jackson Brown passed away in the early morning of February 3 2023 at the age of 83. She passed peacefully after a night surrounded by family and friends. Ruby was widowed twice and is survived by her three children Valerie Turner, Michael Jackson and Chad Brown.

Ruby was born in Kingston Jamaica and was the last living sibling of 2 sisters and 1 brother. She came to America almost 50 years ago and proceeded to bring many of her Jamaican family members to America soon after receiving her US citizenship. She settled in Las Vegas Nevada in the late 70s with her first husband Walter Jackson and after being widowed for 10 plus years met and married her second husband Canute Brown. She was widowed again in July of 2022.

Her favorite hobbies were eating at different restaurants, debating politics, and video poker. Ruby was a life-long learner and graduated from UNLV with a degree in psychology while her children were still teenagers.

Our loving mother and “Auntie Ruby” was the matriarch of our family and will be greatly missed.

A visitation for Ruby will be held Saturday, February 18, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, Nevada 89123, followed by a funeral service at 7:00 PM.
