Robert 'Bobby' Preston passed away August 3, 2017. He was born in Houston, Texas to Robert W. Preston and Betrice M. Preston. Bobby moved to Las Vegas over 40 years ago and began his career in gaming, starting as a shift manager then becoming a Casino Manager at the Holiday Inn - Harrah's. He retired after 18 years, but retirement was not for him, so he re-entered gaming to become Casino Manager at the Boardwalk Casino. He was the one and only Casino Manager from the day the Boardwalk opened until the day they tore it down.
In his low and slow Texas voice, he loved to talk about his life as a "Gambler on the Road" before he came to Las Vegas and in his words became a "Square John".
Bobby is survived by his wife of 40 years, Dana Preston; daughters Cathy (Bobby) Pirkle, Cherri (Mike) Slack, and step-son Jimmy Linton (who was tirelessly by his side in his declining last few years), 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
Arrangements under the direction of Palm Cheyenne Mortuary, Las Vegas, NV.
