Robert Lional Parish (Bob) passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2015. He was 97 years old. Robert was born in Elba, Idaho on October 25, 1917, to Fred & Lillie Haycock Parish. He recieved his early schooling in Elba before the family moved to Gig Harbor, WA. when Robert was 19 years old. Bob enlisted in the U.S. Military in June of 1941 and subsequently was stationed at La Junta, Colorado where he met and married the former Ruth Goldesberry of Rocky Ford, CO. After his services during World War II, Bob entered college at San Jose State where he graduated with honors in 1952. He then taught school in the Millbtae School District in Northern California where he remained for 25 years until he and Ruth moved to Las Vegas in 1989. Bob and Ruth loved to travel and were fortnate to visit many parts of the World in their retirement. Bob was a charter member of the World War II museum in New Orleans, LA.; and lifetime member of the California School Teachers Association. Robert is survived by his wife of 71 years Ruth Parish sister Lorrayne Thomas of Edmonds, Washington; Sister in Law Colleen Haycock of Las Vegas, and many nieces and nephews. A viewing will take place at Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Avenue in Las Vegas from 10:00 untill 11:30 a.m. on Friday February 20th. Funeral & Burial Services will be held at 1:20 p.m. on Friday February 20th at the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchannan Blvd. in Boulder City.
