Robert Melvin, 72, a retired supervisor in the telephone industry, of Las Vegas, passed away Thursday, Sep. 22, 2011. Born Sep. 26, 1938 in Pipestone City, MN, he had been a Las Vegas resident for 16 years. Robert is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shirley; daughters, Julie Melvin and Nancy (Dennis) Beckett; grandsons, Brandon and Ryan; granddaughter, Amie; great grandson, Braedin; and his sisters, Shirley Jamison, Roberta Hall and Marilyn Gebauer. A Memorial Service will be held on Sat. Oct. 1 at 4:30PM at the Lakes Lutheran Church, 8200 W. Sahara Ave., LV, NV 89117.
