Who at the age of 74, entered eternal peace on July 28, 2021. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Robert I. and Mercedes, an infant sister, and his son, Army Sgt. John Griffith, KIA Afghanistan. An Illinois native, Robert was raised in Southern California and graduated from Chatsworth High School, Community College of Southern Nevada and the police academy class 1-71. He served his country in the Air Force (Vietnam) and served his community in a lengthy career in law enforcement. Robert was the first recipient of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Metal of Honor in 1976 for his actions to rescue an elderly tenant in an apartment fire. His dedication and devotion to his family was never ending and his highest priority. As a devoted husband, he is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara and their children, Dr. Robert A. Griffith (Dr. My Vuong), Katherine Tyler (LVFD Captain Les Tyler) and grandchildren; Kailynn Griffith, Jacob Tyler, Shelby Tyler, Graham Griffith and Carys Griffith. A gentle yet strong moral compass in raising his children, he continued in retirement as he raised his oldest granddaughter, Kailynn. Robert was a resident of Pahrump since 1998. An avid sports fan, he loved his Dodgers and Golden Knights! At Robert’s request there will be no services. Rest in Peace my love, until we are together again.
