Rob spent his youth in Alamogordo, New Mexico where he attended grade school and Jr. High School. He graduated from Tooele High School in Tooele, Utah in 1983. Rob married Monica Allen in 1991 and their family was sealed for all time and eternity on June 1st, 2001. They had two wonderful children and many happy memories together.
Rob was a fun loving dad to his two kids, Casey and Jaynee. They have many memories of playing games in the backyard and making his famous chocolate chip cookies together! Some of Rob’s proudest moments of his life were the day his children were born, when Casey chose to serve a mission and the days Casey and Jaynee were married to their eternal companions. He was so excited to be a Grandpa in 2022 to Clayton.
Rob graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelors Degree in Agricultural System Technology. He worked in many trades but most recently as a property claims adjuster in Austin Texas. Rob enjoyed wood working, college football, NASCAR, traveling and camping with his family, and “tinkering” in his garage! He was known for his love of camo and snickers candy bars.
Rob is survived by his children and their families, Casey, Emily and Clayton Giffing (Satanta, Kansas) and Jaynee Lee and Dakota Meyer (Burley, Idaho). His mother Kay Dennis (Las Vegas, Nevada) his siblings and their families, Russ & Lynn Giffing (Pueblo, Colorado), Jeff & Joy Giffing (Las Cruces, New Mexico),Casandra Dennis (Las Vegas, Nevada), His former wife for over thirty years Monica Giffing (Otis, Colorado) and many Allen family members.
He was preceded in death by his father Robert Lee Giffing Sr., step-father Raymond Dennis, and his grandparents. He will be laid to rest next to his father in New Mexico.
A memorial service will be held January 4th, 2025 in Spanish Fork, Utah.
Visitation will start at 10am with a service to follow at 11am.
